CATHEDRAL HIGH SCHOOL 2010 REUNION
March
Newsletter
Dear Classmates,
Here is a Review and also an Update of the Feb Newsletter along with
some very
important advise about Alternatives to Nursing Home Care, Very
Funny.
Here is the
Review.
We will be celebrating our 50th
anniversary of our graduation from Cathedral High School on Saturday,
July 17, 2010. Do you remember walking the halls as a freshman as
well as the senior motor board?
We have traveled many paths over the
course of 50 years as we have studied, worked, wed, raised children and
volunteered. As diverse as our lives have been, we do share the
common bond of attending Crookston Cathedral, developing lasting
friendships and acquired the self confidence to meet the past decades.
Our reunion committee is working on
details for a fun weekend. We are planning the celebration with
1960 and 1961 classes and other interested friends from
Cathedral. We invite and encourage you to bring spouse, partner,
children, siblings, friends, cousins and others interested in this
reunion. Msgr. Krebs
will be attending however Rev. Lt Col Prior will not be coming
because of the distance. He however, is in constant contact
with Msgr. Krebs who will be giving him updates.
There
will be a four course dinner and
lots of conversation. Charge for the dinner is $40 per person
with choices of steak or walleye. Please mail checks by June 1, 2010

your memory savings, pictures, clippings, programs,
M & H items,and other items to
share. It would be great if each classmate brought a door prize
that is significant to you or the place you live.
We plan to gather Friday evening near
the hotels.
Pat Pierce Langer and Henry have
offered to host a Sunday gathering at their home.
We look forward to seeing you and your
guest by and
joining us for this wonderful celebration.

=============================
No Nursing
Home for me.
About 2
years ago my wife and I were on a cruise through the Western
Mediterranean aboard the Princess Cruise.
At dinner
we noticed an elderly lady sitting alone by the rail of the grand
stairway in the main dinning room.
I also
noticed that all the staff ship officers, waiters , busboys, ect all
seemed very familiar with this lady.
I asked
our waiter who the lady was expecting to be told that she owned the
line, but he said he only knew that she had been on board for the last
4 cruises.
As we left
the dining room one evening I caught her eye and stopped to say hello.
We chatted and I said, I understand you have been on this ship for the
last 4 cruises. She replied, yes that is true . I stated I don't
understand, and she replied without a pause. It is
cheaper than a nursing home.
So there
will be no nursing home in my future, when I get old and feeble.
I am going
to get on a Princess Cruise ship. The average cost
for a nursing home is over $200 a day.
I have
checked the reservations of Princess and I can get a long term discount
and senior discount price of $135 per day. That
leaves 65 dollars a day for .
1.
Gratuities will be $10 per day.
2. I will
have as many as 10 meals a day if I woddle to the restaurant or with
room service, I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week.
3.
Princess has as many as three swimming pools, work out rooms, free
washer and dryer, and shows every night.
4. They
have free toothpaste, and razors and free soap and shampoo.
5. They
will even treat you like a customer not a patient . And extra 5 dollars
worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling
to help you.
6. I will
get to meet new people every 7-14 days .
7. TV
broken, light bulbs need changing, need to have a matress replaced, no
problem. They will fix everything and apologize for
your inconvenience.
8. Clean
sheets and towels every day and you don't even have to ask for them.
9. If you
fall in a nursing home and break a hip, you are on medicare.
If you fall and break a hip on Princess ship they will upgrade
you to a suite for the rest of your life.
Now hold
on for the best part. Do you want to see S. America, the Panama Canal,
Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia or name where you
want to go. Princess will have a ship ready to go so don't look for me
in a nursing home. Just call shore to ship.
P.S. If
you die they just toss your body of the side of the boat.
